10 STAGES! 40+ ACTS!
With the premiere of "Late Night with Jimmy
Fallon" on March 2, 2009, The Roots instantly
became one of the coolest house bands in late
night television history.
The Roots are the influential and critically
acclaimed Philadelphia-based band described by
Rolling Stone as "one of the greatest live acts in
the world" and by the Boston Globe as the
"greatest hip-hop band in the land." The band has
paved the way for live instrumental rap and have
won numerous awards for their eclectic
jazz-influenced approach to hip-hop, including two
Grammys and a 2007 NAACP Image Award.
Over the course of 15 years, Train has made its mark on music history with their Grammy-Award-
winning song “Drops of Jupiter (Tell
Me)” and chart-topping singles “Meet Virginia” and
“Calling All Angels.” Since forming in San
Francisco in 1994, the multi-platinum selling band
has traveled a long, successful and sometimes
arduous journey. Following their 2006 release,
For Me, It’s You, the band took a
three-year hiatus, and in that time, Train has,
for all intents and purposes, experienced an
epiphany as a whole. Now, with their fifth album,
Save Me San Francisco, Train has
channeled their early days, revisiting the roots
rock sound that has made the band such a tour de
force – and, in turn, the band is united stronger
than ever before. http://www.trainline.com/

Dubbed by The
Washington Post as "one of DC's most
energetic and eclectic bands" Scythian
(sith-ee-yin) falls nothing short of a "party
band". Their high-energy, adrenaline-peddling,
interactive brand of music has one goal in mind -
to get people on their feet and dancing.
Led by a pair of young raging fiddlers,
Scythian has a great respect and admiration for
the traditional - the foundation of their music;
nevertheless, Scythian is not afraid to wink at
convention in search of a little fun, lending them
an appeal to young and old alike.

Carbon Leaf blasted into the national spotlight
three years ago with their major label debut,
Indian Summer and landed themselves at the
ShamrockFest as well as Big Night DC. Carbon
Leaf's brand of rootsy, Celtic-influenced rock
originated in the same Richmond, VA, scene that
nurtured Dave Matthews Band, Agents of Good Roots,
and Pat McGee Band.

Stephen Kellog
& the Sixers
|
“SK6ERS,” as they’re also affectionately known,
have carved a determined, inspiring path since
forming in Western Massachusetts in 2003. An
exceptional live act given to high-energy
showmanship, The Sixers are closing in on their
1000th show with a newfound grit and gratitude.
Stephen and core Sixers – Kit “Goose” Karlson
(keys, bass, tuba, accordion) and Brian “Boots”
Factor (drums, mandolin, banjo) -- are friends who
act like brothers and switch off on their
instruments to keep it fresh; much in the
tradition of their collective heroes, The Band.
“We’ve all opted to approach our life in the same
way – trying to put integrity ahead of ambitions
of fame and fortune, though we’d like that too...
at least the fortune part,” Stephen says with a
laugh.

Okay, you asked for them and we got 'em so they
are comin' back. If you haven't seen the Street
Dogs at the ShamrockFest you haven't really seen
ShamrockFest...or the Street Dogs.
The Street Dogs, it is somewhat of an
understatement to say, are from Boston.
Mike McColgan’s name was already indelibly linked
with the city, as he had already made his name as
the front man for the Dropkick Murphys, the
standard-bearers of Boston punk during the late
1990s.

praise and fans from New York to Ireland,
Baltimore to Nashville and beyond. DXP blends a
unique combination of traditional Irish music with
American country and blues, folk and rock, rhythm
and funk, which John O'Regan of Roots Magazine
calls, "…creative ferocity not seen since The
Clash's London Calling period."

Over the past three albums and five
years, Toronto’s Celtic rock band Enter
The Haggis has found itself at the center

now one of the hottest Celtic acts in North
America.
The band has made waves in the
genre, landing high Billboard and iTunes World
Music chart positions as well as major television
appearances on shows like Live With Regis
And Kelly, A&E Breakfast With
the Arts and PBS’ popular program
Out of Ireland, with its
multi-influence style of Celtic rock. It’s the
kind of overall sound and devotion package that

"...An unashamedly topical wallop of
the early-Seventies Jersey-bar E Street Band and
the Combat Rock-era Clash, laced with the mourning
siren of uilleann pipes." - Rolling

“These guys might be New Jersey's
answer to the Barenaked Ladies... Far less lame
than John Mayer... I’m sure suburban college kids
eat this sh*t up.”
(ReadJunk.com)
They’ve been called
The Rolling Stones meets XTC meets The Hothouse
Flowers meets They Might Be Giants meets The
Pogues, but you shouldn’t believe any of that. The
FLU are exactly what they say they are… The
Greatest Band of All Times.
“If you’ve ever
been blown away by fresh instrumentation, and
unique songwriting, that makes most of the crap on
the radio seem as generic and flavorless as it
really is, you will definitely be able to
appreciate… Icewagon Flu.” (XM Satellite
Radio)
